Beauty Review: Lush Easter Range 2018 Products

Hello world,
the early months of the year are always really exciting for me since at Lush we launch one seasonal range of products after the other during this time. Just over two weeks ago the 2018 Easter range was launched and like a true beauty junkie I of course had to pick up a couple of items to give them a good try at home.

"Here Comes The Sun" Naked Shower Cream

I love the innovative idea of the Lush naked shower gels and have been using some on and off ever since they were first introduced for Christmas 2017. In a world where everyone should start being more mindful about how much plastic waste they are producing these are a breath of fresh air in the beauty industry. And out of the five varieties I've tried so far "Here Comes The Sun" might be my favourite. I love its fresh orange scent, even though I wish it lasted on the skin for longer. Also, you can definitely tell that the naked shower creams have been reformulated after Christmas since this one doesn't shrink and I find it also lathers much creamier than the products that came out last year.

"Carrot" Soap

I feel like this product was set up for failure from the get go since it sports the name but not the scent of a very popular soap from past easter ranges. I still decided to give it a go, because I did like its subtle scent and cute shape. Having had it on the soap dish in my kitchen for a while now I can say that I like it but I don't love it. It does what a soap is supposed to do, in a very subtle, unobtrusive way but it doesn't give me as much joy using it as other soaps do, which is why I wouldn't repurchase it.

"April Showers" Bath Bomb

This bath bomb is one of the dark horses of the range. It looks quite plain sitting on the shelf but in the tub it turns the water a pastel lilac colour which looks absolutely gorgeous. The little raindrops that ornate the white cloud are made out of castor oil and extra virgin olive oil so when they melt in a hot bath they float on top of the water, creating some super instagrammable bath art. I assume that its powdery and earthy scent, which reminds me of walking into a quiet book store, will probably not be for everyone but I'm a big fan!

"Seven Deadly Spins" Bubble Spinner

I was drawn to this bath product mainly due to its gorgeous scent. It's fruity but floral at the same time (hello there bergamot and litsea cubeba!) and reminds me of walking into a florist's shop in summer. I also love that it's so tiny but still reusable, which means that it doesn't only last you a long time but that you also create much less waste using one of these than if you were to buy bath bombs for the equivalent number of baths, since those are single use.

May x
