Hello world,
February is over and it was a month in which I've been loving a variety of different products. I bought some new firm favorites and also fell back in love with some things that I'd not given enough attention to for too long:
MAC Matte Lipstick "Russian Red"
I've owned this lipstick for quite a while but this month I feel like I've used it more than ever before. I love it since even when I apply no, or barely any other make up, its classic colour makes it look like I made an effort anyway. This was a great help in February, when I often didn't have much time to apply a full face of make up due to a hectic work schedule. On top of that it makes a great addition to a day as well as an evening look, and because I like not having to worry about changing my make up halfway through a long day, "Russian Red" has not been leaving my make up bag in February.
Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick "Pillow Talk"
When my old housemate visited me in February naturally we did a lot of what we do best - beauty shopping. On one of our trips we went into Charlotte Tilbury and while I hadn't bought anything from this brand in a while because I just hadn't been excited enough about any products to justify paying the sometimes hefty price tag, this beautiful dusty pinky nude lipstick completely won me over as soon as I swatched it on my hand. And it's been a staple in my make up bag for all of February - the colour is subtle enough to be wearable with pretty much any outfit during the day but also stands out enough to be a great last touch for an evening look.
Liz Earle Botanical Essence "No. 100"
Another discovery I've made thanks to my old housemate. She's a big Liz Earle fan and sprayed this perfume basically everyday while she was staying with me and I completely fell in love with it from the first time I smelt it. Its scent makes you feel like you're in a florist's shop and the fresh, floral notes are really uplifting but not too overpowering. For me it's a perfect sophisticated everyday scent, which I will definitely repurchase once I've gone through this first bottle.
Aesop Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste
I've owned this scrub for a couple of months but I used it more than ever in February due to the sudden decrease in temperature which left my skin quite dry and in some places even flaky. The paste contains ground quartz as a physical as well as lactic acid as a chemical exfoliator, and together they remove any excess oil or dead skin and leave your skin incredibly soft and ready to absorb a nutrient rich moisturiser. I just love how the scrub improves the texture of my skin visibly, which is why I will definitely keep using - and probably repurchasing - it, despite its rather high price point.
Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush "Cherub"
This water based blush is another product which I've owned for a long time but I only really started using this past month - and god I wish I'd done it earlier! After you shake this little bottle you get a beautiful light liquid that is easily spreadable and really reminds me of water colour. It combines the staying power of a cream based blush with the natural look of a powder blush and is thus a really perfect mix. Another plus: You only have to use a couple of drops for a nice visible application which means that the 15 ml bottle lasts for a good while.
May x
