Hello world,
ever since one of my friends from work introduced me to "RuPaul's Drag Race" a couple of years ago I've become a big fan of the show and drag performers in general. I especially love the artistry that the queens express through their make up, which is why I follow a lot of Drag Race alumni on social media.
This is where I came across a new product that one of the queens, Bianca del Rio, is selling: The Bianca Remover. Queens were posting videos of themselves testing these new make up remover pads to take off heavy drag make up all over instagram, and they all showed amazing results. So I thought what's good enough for a drag queen's make up is definitely good enough for mine and ordered a pack of The Bianca Remover from Amazon to try it out.
The Bianca Remover pads arrived in a simple white plastic container that contains 50 make up remover pads. Having a further look at the packaging you also discover that the product is vegan and not tested on animals, which is always a plus!
The product costs 11.95 pounds on Amazon, however you also have to pay a 3.99 pounds shipping fee, which brings the product price to 15.94, which is not the cheapest.
As stated on the packaging, The Bianca Remover contains only two ingredients - coconut oil and vitamin E. This simple formula is great since it's unlikely that even the most sensitive skin will react to it. On top of that it's well known that coconut oil has many benefits when used in skin care - it is moisturising, softening and acts as an antibacterial shield, amongst many other things. And the Bianca Remover pads are drenched in product, which means that one remover pad goes a long way.
The pads themselves are what I think makes the product very effective - they have little holes with raised edges in them which allows the pads to grip onto make up and remove it easier.
I have used the Bianca Remover pads every night since I received my order two weeks ago - and I am very impressed.
I generally use fairly natural make up, however in regards to my lipstick and my mascara I always go for long-lasting and waterproof formulas, which can be very hard to remove. The fact that The Bianca Remover combines a very effective natural make up remover with the exfoliating texture of the pads made it possible for me to remove even my most heavy duty liquid lipsticks easily, without having to rub and pull the skin much and with just one pad.
Something else notable is that some nights I used The Bianca Remover as a first cleanse before following it with a foaming cleanser. On those nights my skin felt extra clean and my pores were much less visible than usual. I do think this is because of the high coconut oil content of the product, and the ingredient's ability to soften keratin caps over pores and consequently help remove congestions.
On other nights I was really tired and naughtily only used The Bianca Remover on my face and then went straight to bed. But even on those days my skin was perfectly fine, visibly clean and soft the next morning - something that I've never experienced with other make up remover pads or wipes.
Due to its price tag The Bianca Remover won't be replacing my trusty Lush Ultrabland which I have used for years to take my make up off, however, it will for sure stay in my skincare collection and always get lots of use when my make up is a bit more stubborn than usual.
May x
