how is half of 2018 over already? This year seems to be flying past and the fact that we're past the end of June means it's again time to look back on the products I've used and loved most in the month just gone.
Aesop "In Two Minds" Facial Cleanser
During a shopping trip with my best friend in late May I took him into the Aesop store in Covent Garden. Whilst he was getting a consultation I wandered around the store and spotted this cleanser, which I'd never seen before. A staff member who came over to me confirmed that this was a new product and explained its benefits. After she demonstrated the product on me, and my hands were left feeling incredibly soft, I was hooked and just had to buy it.
I've used it more or less at least once a day everyday since and I'm not regretting my purchase - the cleanser leaves my skin feeling super cleansed but still soft and also keeps spots at bay/makes hormonal or stress spots heal faster. If I had to criticise anything it would be that is that I would love it if it was a little bit more effective in regards to preventing blackheads, but it definitely has a decent effect in regards to removing them so this is not a massive problem.
Aphogee Two-Step Protein Treatment
In my March 2018 favourites post I wrote about the fact that since I ombre dyed my hair, my hair structure has drastically changed for the worse - my natural waves now turn straight and flat within two days of washing them. Since I've always been very proud of my hair and it's been a source of confidence for me as long as I can remember I have been looking for remedies ever since this problem first became apparent. In this treatment I've FINALLY found that!
Applied onto shampooed and towel dried hair you leave it on until it has dried (I used a hair dryer to speed this process up) and all the protein has been absorbed, then you wash it out and condition as normal. This means using it is quite a lengthy process but it's so worth it! After only one use my hair texture was so much more defined and I even got compliments on how much more healthy it looked. Additionally it's really lovely that the effect is quite long-lasting and using it every two weeks is enough for me to maintain healthy and strong waves.
Aphogee Keratin& Green Tea Restructurizer
I bought this product together with the protein treatment and while I use the treatment about every two weeks, I try to spray the restructurizer on my hair every day. I've used it both on dry and damp hair and either way it's had a lovely effect - my hair feels stronger, softer and it stays defined for longer if I use it regularly. It's a great alternative to curl defining products that only cause a build up of synthetics and make you feel like you want to wash your hair as soon as you've applied it.
